Jacob Gries, MD
Chief Resident
I was born and raised in rural Oregon and bounced around for my education. Gonzaga University in Washington gave me my undergraduate education, Kansas City University my master’s in biomedical sciences, and St George’s University in Grenada my medical education. After so many transitions, I needed a residency that offered a collegial and community-forward atmosphere that reminded me of home, which I graciously found in Geisinger.
Geisinger provided me a home to optimize my personal and professional growth into an upstanding holistic human and physician. The solid interpersonal relationships Geisinger allowed me to form with residents, staff, attendings, and students will carry on well beyond my tenure as a resident into my chief year and future career.
I look forward to offering the same support and guidance to my resident-peers as chief. As a leadership team, we look forward to welcoming you into the Geisinger family and helping you flourish into exceptional physicians and outstanding human beings.
Kamran Namjouyan, DO
Chief Resident
As a recent immigrant, I've eagerly pursued avenues to realize my dream of becoming a Physician. During my rotation as a medical student at Geisinger, it became abundantly clear that this institution is not only dedicated to honing my skills as a physician but also to unlocking my full potential.
Geisinger has provided me with the resources and support necessary to excel both in patient care and as a leader within the hospital and my community. The seamless transition facilitated by Geisinger has opened doors to a future I never imagined possible.
In addition to my medical journey, Central Pennsylvania has offered me the perfect backdrop to indulge in my outdoor passions, such as fishing, boating, and skiing. A fun tidbit about me: I'm also a personal trainer and prioritize maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
